Horse back riding Lessons

Stephanie Roller, Level 1 CEF English Coach

A note from Stephanie:

I did not grow up in a horsey family.  I was 6 when I started riding and falling in love with horses during my summer vacations on BC ranches.  I was 9 when we immigrated to Vancouver Island and I started my formal, English riding lessons on a regular basis. My parents were thrilled to have their unathletic daughter spend time in the fresh air and getting some exercise!  I used to walk 40 minutes to the barn to spend my Saturday and Sunday with the horses and ride.

I was 13 when I got my first pony.  There was an old pig barn on the property which was fixed up to have 2 stalls and I spent a lot of time painting.  The horse was to be my responsibility (along with boarding a companion horse) and if it didn't happen, it would be over. So I got up every morning at 6am to much out the stalls, feed and turn out the horses. I would feed hay after school and go riding followed by putting them in at night.

At 15, I started to jump and took care of my horse during the winter months and during show season was privellaged  enough to keep my horse at a boarding barn.

I had many horses over the years and competed in Dressage, the Hunters and then the Jumpers.  I loved and rode in Vancouver as well as Mexico.

After finishing university, I had the opportunity to work in different fields in the tourism and hospitality industry. I started to help a friend teach some money and physically challenged students and before I knew it, spent two years studying and riding to get my Equine Canada Level 1 Coaching Certification in 2002.  I have never looked back. and there is nothing I'd rather do!  I really enjoy helping my students achieve their goals and to create new generation of equestrians!

SEE YOU IN THE RING!

Your Coach,
Stephanie Roller
